Ramsey Spokesman: GOP Budget Waiting On Guv’s Office

Statement from the office of Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, R-Blountville; April 27, 2010:

“Senate Republicans are working on our budget but the Democrats tax plan needs to be put forward so we know exactly what the Governor is proposing. The legislature has never presented a budget before receiving the Governor’s plan. We’ve not received the administration amendment with the Governor’s tax plan that we were told we would have by April 16th. The Governor’s last minute proposal has extended the session but we will work with him. However, it is Civics 101 that the Governor proposes and the legislature disposes. We will adhere to that basic tenet of government.”

Lance Frizzell

Deputy Chief of Staff

Office of the Lt. Governor
