Press Release from Ron Ramsey for Tennessee Governor Campaign, July 27, 2010:
MASON DIXON: Lt. Governor Ramsey #1 in Middle Tennessee
Picks up Maury County straw poll win; Montgomery County State Representative endorses
NASHVILLE, TN – Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey (R-Blountville) leads the Governor’s race in Middle Tennessee according to a newly released Mason Dixon poll. The numbers bear out that Ramsey is gaining momentum: since the last poll taken in early July, Congressman Wamp and Mayor Haslam have each only gained 4 points where Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey has gained more than double that amount since the last poll.
Lt. Governor Ramsey also picked up a big win in the Maury County GOP Straw Poll held over the weekend. He handily won with 125 votes to Wamp’s 104 and Haslam’s 50. Haslam cancelled his appearance at the straw poll hours before it took place.
Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey has also received the endorsement of Montgomery County State Representative Curtis Johnson (R-Clarksville), who formally announced his support today and vowed to work hard to elect him Governor.
Lt. Governor Ramsey had the following to say of the endorsement:
“I am pleased to have the support of my good friend and colleague, Representative Curtis Johnson. Like me, he is a small business owner and understands the struggles that small business owners are facing. An effective legislator, he has been instrumental in helping carry strong bills in the State House aimed at easing the burdens on small businesses in our state. Curtis is a fantastic leader for the people of Montgomery County and I know I can rely on him as well. I am so glad to have his support for my candidacy for Governor,” said Ramsey.
