Police officers endorse Senator Beavers for State Senate
(Lebanon, TN), October 6, 2010 – State Senator Mae Beavers (R-Mt. Juliet) today received the endorsement of the Lebanon Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #83. Beavers is the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee which deals with crime, the courts and other legal matters.
“I am very pleased to receive the support of the men and women who are on the front lines of keeping our communities safe,” said Chairman Beavers. “It has been an honor to work with our law enforcement community as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. I have tremendous respect for our law enforcement officers and the families who support them throughout this State Senate district.”
Throughout her legislative tenure, Beavers has been a source of legislative knowledge and support for the issues and concerns for law enforcement officials, including passage of several legislative initiatives to help curb drunk driving in the state. She was also a key proponent of legislative efforts to crack down on violent crime by keeping violent criminals behind bars longer to protect the public.
“Public safety should always be a first priority of state government,” added Beavers. “I look forward to continuing to work with our law enforcement community in the next General Assembly. Working together, we can make our streets safer for all Tennesseans.”
Senator Beavers represents Cannon, Clay, DeKalb, Macon, Smith, part of Sumner, Trousdale, and Wilson Counties in the State Senate.
