Press release from the Nashville League of Women Voters; July 19, 2012:
With early voting fast approaching, Davidson county voters need easily accessible election information to help them cast their vote and make informed decisions on the best candidates to represent their communities. League of Women Voters of Nashville has joined league chapters across the country to offer a one-stop shop for pertinent election information online at www.Vote411.org.
On Vote411, Davidson County voters can find general voting information such as election dates, polling places, ID requirements, and absentee ballot details as well as read statements submitted by the candidates. In order to maintain objectivity and transparency, candidates’ statements will be posted unedited. Voters will also have the capability to view a side-by-side comparison of candidates and print out a customized sample ballot with their picks.
“The League of Women Voters is proud to offer the community our latest resource to promote informed civic engagement,” said Nashville League President Debby Gould. “Vote411 gives voters a wealth of information, keyed to their voting precincts, for the upcoming election in August. We think citizens are really going to enjoy having easy on-line access to this information before they head to the polls.”
