Press release from the Yes on 1 campaign; September 26, 2014:
Nashville—YES on 1 is pleased to continue introducing our Honorary Campaign Chairmen, a group of distinguished Tennesseans who are lending their public support to win passage of Amendment 1. Charlotte Bergmann is a radio talk host, small business owner in Memphis and candidate for U.S. Congress, District 9.
Charlotte characterizes her support for Amendment 1 based on the following:
- “I am a mom and I want to see common sense policies that will protect women and babies from the half-truths about abortion promoted by Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry;
- “I am a black female and I am concerned that more black babies are killed by abortion than are actually born, resulting in self-extermination of the African-American (Black) population;
- “I am a Christian and Scripture affirms that life is sacred. As such it is a violation of conscience to force Tennessee taxpayers to pay for abortions, especially when there are life-affirming alternatives.
“Please join me in standing up for Life and for Liberty. Vote YES on Amendment 1 and restore Life to Tennessee.”
