Press release from the Beacon Center of Tennessee; October 15, 2014:
NASHVILLE – The Beacon Center just released a brand new education reform package promoting school choice in Tennessee.
The package includes a school choice options booklet, which has already been sent to 15,000 families across the state. The booklet gives parents all the available options to provide their children with the education that they deserve. Additionally, an op-ed, infographics showing that minorities and young parents overwhelmingly favor school choice, and stories of those impacted by school choice are also included.
While many neighboring states such as Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi continue to expand school choice options, Tennessee is falling behind.
“Every child in Tennessee has different needs, which is why a one-size-fits-all approach to education makes absolutely no sense and is hurting our kids,” said Beacon CEO Justin Owen. “People across the political spectrum support school choice. This is not an issue of Right and Left, this is an issue of right and wrong.”
