Nashville, Tenn. (August 27, 2015) – The Executive Committee of the Tennessee Democratic Party (TNDP) has approved the Delegate Selection Plan that lays out the process for selecting Delegates to the 2016 Democratic National Convention to be held week of July 25, 2016. The plan was approved by the EC and given conditional compliance by the Democratic National Committee.

This Delegate Selection and Affirmative Action Plan ensures that the Tennessee Democratic Party delegation represents the diversity of Tennessee’s voters and the Democratic Party. Democrats across this great state are looking forward to nominate the next President of the United States in Philadelphia next year ,” said Mary Mancini, Chair of the TNDP.
On March 19, 2016, Democrats from each of Tennessee’s 9 congressional districts will meet at a presidential congressional district convention to elect 44 district-level delegates to the DNC.
Following the congressional district caucuses, the district-level delegates will meet to select 18 Party Leader and Elected Official (PLEO) delegates, 14 At-Large Delegates, and 2 At-Large Alternates to the Democratic National Convention.
