Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam is entering his third year as the state’s most powerful elected official. He told reporters during a press conference recently that he is enjoying the gig.
“It’s actually way more than I thought it would be,” said Haslam. “And I mean that in a good sense. I actually like it even more than I thought I would.”
As governor, said Haslam, “Your chance for impact is a lot bigger than I thought it was.”
“People laugh when I say this, but being governor is a way bigger deal than I thought it was,” he said. “People treat you much differently.”
