Local Jailer Investigated for Theft

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into alleged theft of county funds by a Sullivan County jail administrator, who has been fired, the Kingsport Times-News is reporting.

The investigation was initiated Monday at the request of Sullivan County District Attorney Greeley Wells. He said allegations against Lori Delp involves the theft of county funds, but declined to elaborate on their source, amount or exact dates of the reported offenses.

Delp, who was an administrative captain, had oversight responsibilities in areas including food service, medical care and the commissary.
