Rep. Gilmore to Receive ‘Crowning Achievement Award’

FiftyForward non-profit thanks Gilmore for her support, public service

(Nashville) — FiftyForward, a non-profit dedicated to the enrichment of retired persons in Middle Tennessee, will honor Rep. Brenda Gilmore Thursday with the Crowning Achievement Award.

The award honors Gilmore (D-Nashville) for her years of volunteer leadership in the community.

“This is a great honor, but I mostly just want to thank FiftyForward for their tireless work in contributing to the quality of life for so many of our retired persons in our community.”

Gilmore is a past president of the FiftyForward Endowment Board. She helped secure Metro Council approval for the FiftyForward headquarters in 2002 as well as helped the agency acquire the former Bordeaux Library, which became the FiftyForward Bordeaux Center.

Gilmore, who is a retired director from Vanderbilt University, represents the 54th District in the state House of Representatives and serves on the Conservation and Environment and Commerce Committees.
