TCA: Bill That Repeals Voter ID Law to Still be Heard in House Committee

Press release from Tennessee Citizen Action; March 13, 2012:

HOUSE STATE & LOCAL GOVT SUBCOMMITTEE WILL MEET ON WEDNESDAY, 3/14 FROM 8:30 AM until 2:00 PM and then again at 3:30 PM (if necessary)

HB2176, the bill to repeal the photo ID to vote law, will STILL be heard in House State and Local Government Subcommittee TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, 3/14, at Legislative Plaza, 301 6th Avenue North, Room 30, but please note the time change above.

Action #1: If you can, please consider stopping by the subcommittee hearing in room 30 sometime between 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM to show your support for the repeal bill. (Unfortunately, there is no way to predict at what time the bill to repeal will be heard. If it has not been heard by 2:00 PM then we will send an update before the committee starts again at 3:30 PM.) Directions and Parking info below.

Action #2: Please CALL YOUR State House representative and State Senator to urge them to repeal the photo ID to vote law. Find the contact info for your representatives by going to www.capitol.tn.gov/legislators and entering your address and zip code.

DIRECTIONS: Enter Legislative Plaza at corner of 6th & Union. Go through Security and make a right. Committee room 30 will be on the left.

PARKING: The Nashville Public Library Garage – Free Parking is offered for the first 90 minutes. Entrances are on 6th and 7th Avenues between Church and Commerce Streets.
