Black Praises Slatery Decision to Join Multi-State Immigration Lawsuit

Press release from U.S. Rep. Diane Black, R TN-06; December 22, 2014:

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Diane Black (R-TN-06) issued the following statement on the news that Tennessee will join the multi-state lawsuit challenging President Obama’s unconstitutional executive action on immigration:

“I applaud Attorney General Slatery’s decision to join this fight against the President’s overreach,” said Congressman Black. “The President has overstepped his authority to put the interests of those who break our laws over those who come here legally and over the 200,000 Tennesseans who remain out of work. This action cannot stand and we must fight this on every front – whether through the courts or Congress. I was proud to join 26 of my colleagues in an amicus brief recently supporting this lawsuit. In addition, I have introduced stand alone legislation that would stop funding for the President’s action that I will reintroduce early next Congress.”
