Press Release from Tennessee Senate Minority Leader Lee Harris, D-Memphis, May 22, 2015:
HARRIS: TOO MUCH FOCUS ON BRANDING IDEAS, INSTEAD OF ACTUAL IDEAS; “Those of us outside the Nashville bubble can’t understand this kind of decision”
NASHVILLE – The state of Tennessee has spent more than $46,000 on a new state logo that’s drawn scorn from the public, as many prefer the state’s traditional tri-star design.
“We are focusing too much time and money on the branding of ideas, and not enough time on the actual ideas,” Senate Minority Leader Lee Harris said. “Folks outside the Nashville bubble can’t understand this kind of decision-making. Maybe the administration should consider another logo design – the word waste behind a giant ‘X.'”
